This year’s Essen Motor Show has brought quite a few interesting cars with it, and among them sits one BMW i8 upgraded by the guys from Manhart.

This is the same project the aftermarket specialist has previewed earlier this year, and now that it’s here, I have to say it’s ok.

While it does look quite spectacular, I believe strongly it’s mostly because the car has an already amazing design from the get got. Manhart just managed to underline key features by applying a new paintjob, or to be more precise, some yellow accents to really pop up with the grey factory paint.

What is all Mahart is the set of wheels, which works well with the design of the BMW i8. A lowering suspension kit is also in place, bringing the car closer to the ground by 30 mm both front and back. Again, the whole project is fine, but not exactly much tuning going on. It seems that Manhart is also aware of this, as they took the opportunity to also announce that sometime in the future, they will also provide a performance upgrade for the BMW i8.
