Supercharged Shelby Mustang GT500CR by Classic Recreations Is a Real Beast

Back in the 1960s the battle for the muscle car supremacy was fought between Chevrolet and Shelby, two iconic American cars that have eventually developed the entire concept of muscle car forever. It was the era of supercharged cars with whopping power under the hood.

To pay their respect to the iconic Shelby Mustang GT500CR, the aftermarket specialists from Classic Recreations have “recreated” this 1967 Ford Shelby GT500.

And when I say “recreated” I am not referring to a bunch of nice wheels and some mods on the body, as they do today. The body styling is just fine for a nice output underneath the hood, and if you pop-out the hood, you will find something amazing.

As the Oklahoma-based tuner stated, they were just trying to recreate a “modern interpretation” of the GT500, fitting it with the high-performance JRi Shocks coilovers, Wilwood Disc Brakes which replaces the standard ones, along with a supercharged 427ci V8, raising the power to an impressive 814 horsepower.

Apart the massive power upgrade, the technicians from Classic Recreation have also fitted this Supercharged Shelby Mustang GT500CR with the classic 18-inch Grip Equipped Grudge Wheels, finished in matter graphite centers and polished outers. They are also wrapped in 275/35/18 and 335/30/18 front and rear BFGoodrich Tires` G-Gorce Rivals rubbers.
